Is ADHD Serious? Symptoms and Causes of ADHD

With the advancement in the field of technology, chemicals and radiations, human is suffering with new diseases. What is ADHD?

ADHD stands for “Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder”. It is a neurological disorder of children in which a child feels overactive, disturbed and inattentive to his surroundings. The disease starts in childhood and can persist during adolescence. Males usually suffer from ADHD at higher rate than females.

Signs and symptoms of ADHD

Child who is suffering from ADHD suffers from a large number of symptoms. Few of them are enlisted below:
  • Unable to pay attention to the surroundings

All these factors are not the cause of disease but they can exaggerate the symptoms of patients.

Causes of ADHD

There may be number of factors that can become the cause of ADHD. The actual cause is still unknown is under research of scientists and brain specialists.
  • Genetics
  • Brain trauma
  • Use of some inappropriate medicine, alcohol or smoking by the mother, while she was pregnant for the baby suffering from ADHD.
  • Exposure to some toxin or poison
  • Premature birth
  • Obstructed labour (difficult birth)

ADHD can become serious

Inability to pay attention to the respective situation makes a child unaware of what is going on around him. Impulsivity

It means that a person become impatient regarding any reward or result. He becomes unable to control his emotions. He performs things without thinking and intellect regardless of the need of the present situation

Socially unacceptable

Due to inability to pay attention, hyperactivity, lack of interest in surroundings, behaving improperly, and improper emotion the person become unacceptable or the disliked one in the society.

Relationship problems

The person suffering from ADHD usually faces relationship problems because every relation demands for attention, care and a particular feeling. The person with ADHD remains unable to act in a proper way or to express in a meaningful manner that can lead to relationship problems.

Accidents

The person suffering from ADHD may also encounter an accident during his hyperactive state of motions.

Suicidal risk

As a person do not have a control on his emotions and he do lots of things without thinking there remains always a risk of suicide in these patients.

ADHD is a serious neurological problem that involves brain. It produces such symptoms that lead to the patient socially unacceptable. Social unacceptance, breakage of relations and staying unaware of the actual surroundings may cause a person a serious distress. This may result in the loss of one’s confidence and spoilage of his personality. Keeping in mind the devastating outcomes of the disease it should be appropriately controlled either with medications or some therapies.
